Telephone Headsets Dedicating to Greener Living
Electronic devices are looking to save energy and produce greener output to reduce carbon foot prints. GN Netcom and Plantronics have started to recycle telephone headsets to create greener ways. They actually were nominated by Green Magazine for the greenest companies in 2010. Plantronics released the new Plantronics CS540 and Plantronics CS510 wireless headset systems that reduced energy consumption to half of what the Plantronics CS55 consumed. GN Netcom’s new Pro and Go models included battery powered has stations that saves energy. Both manufactures recycle products from older models and they will now discontinue popular cordless headsets like the Plantronics CS70N. For those looking to replace their existing cordless headset system they can now return it to the manufacture to receive instant savings. The standard wireless phone headset consumes the most energy while a corded headset only consumes about a quarter of that.
The US is making it mandatory for companies to start looking in greener ways but the companies are encouraged to do so as they will save huge amounts of money. Telephone headset companies like AT&T and RCA have also started greener living programs. The American Red Cross Association receives monthly donations from telecommunications companies to help find a cure. Every year Plantronics puts on an annual golf tournament that raises over a million dollars for cancer research. Some believe that wireless headset devices can cause cancer and brain damage but this is not true. Research shows that there haven’t been any cancer related causes due to wireless telephone headset devices or cell phones.
